Course overview
NEC4 ECC – Contract Drafting is part of Concordia’s Beyond the Clauses training series. It is for pre-contract teams preparing the NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract. It focuses on preparing documents that support successful project delivery, rather than working through the clauses one by one.
The course looks at the purpose of Scope, Site Information and Contract Data, and how these documents fit together. It examines the selection of secondary Options and the use of Z clauses, with attention to drafting errors and amendments that create problems during delivery.
Participants work through drafting examples and discuss how the documents would be used on a project. They consider what needs to be stated, where it belongs and whether it is clear enough for the team administering the contract.
