Course overview
NEC4 ECC – The Project Manager is for those carrying out or preparing to take on the Project Manager’s role under the Engineering and Construction Contract. It examines the decisions the role requires and the authority, advice and records needed to make them.
The course covers contract structure and documents, communications, early warning, programme acceptance, compensation events and payment from the Project Manager’s perspective. Participants consider when a decision is due, the contractual grounds for it and how to explain it to the Contractor.
Project scenarios are used to review a submission, give a reasoned response and distinguish a contractual decision from an internal approval. Unlike Contract Administration, which concentrates on coordinating procedures and records, this course focuses on the Project Manager’s responsibilities and judgement.
