Course overview
Payment Claims and Payment Schedules in New Zealand is for people preparing, checking or responding to claims for construction payment. It focuses on the day-to-day process under the Construction Contracts Act 2002 and its relationship with the project’s agreed payment terms.
Participants examine how to recognise a payment claim, establish the response deadline and allocate responsibility for preparing and issuing a payment schedule. They consider how contractual assessment and the statutory payment process fit together when the amount is disputed.
Participants work through a sample claim and response. They check the information provided, examine the reasons for a reduced assessment and organise the records needed to explain the position. The exercise also tests how the organisation handles receipt, responsibility and escalation.
